Greetings Metalheads!

Hi!

I'm a 24yrs old metalhead from Sweden, and I'm going to spend at least six of my next years in Cluj-Napoca to study. Living between Stockholm and Gothenburg, i'm very spoiled with good metal clubs, and live concerts. I don't know how it is in Cluj-Napoca and Romania, but I guess it is pretty good if you get Iced Earth, Amon Amarth, In Flames, Draconian, and Arch Enemy and Hammerfall to visit you. Maybe i'll find someone with the same interrests to show me around in Cluj and Romania in the future.


Bands i really like are Iced Earth Opeth, Helloween, Dark Tranquillity, Candlemass, Kreator, Dissection, so i appreciate the most of the metal genre.  rockon1

Well Cluj Napoca is quite dead over the summer,but overall is nice,tho' we don't have many [big] metal concerts.
But I hope you'll enjoy your stay :)
What will you be studying? Medicine?

I see, well i can always go to Bucharest where the concerts seems to be. But it is aways fun to meet people with the same musical interrest and enjoy one night out without the commercial dance music.
Yes, i'll be studying medicine, and I look forward to leave this country for some adventures.

Budapest? The bus annd train takes about 6-8 hrs as I've seen. Is that correct?

You probably can, if it wont coast 350 RON to rent and petrol coast at 7RON/L

I always wanted to leave Sweden. I think the quality of life is higher in romania (if you're not very poor) than it is here.

The grass is always greener on the other side, isn't it?

But really. Well we have more fancy stuff, can offord our Iphones and Ipads and flat screen tv. We are materilized and dont appreciate people. We are rather alone and misery than spending time with people. We can't spend time with people without alcohol involved. It is of course a generalization but not far away from the "truth"

No, it isn't and you'll see it for yourself. But you have a point, our prices are lower than yours and you'll be fine here with an amount that wouldn't suffice in Sweden.

About the shows - there are plenty of them in Cluj, but should you need more (or want to attend the bigger ones), take into account travelling by plane. It is an hour to Bucharest, an hour to Budapest. Otherwise, you'll see that it's easier to reach Budapest by train or by car, the distance is not bigger and we have pretty lousy railroads and roads.

Well I may be wrong but it will show. I hope that I can see the country and it's inhabitants and not only Cluj-Napoca and foreign students.
Cheap booze is always great, but I prefer not to buy my women.
Then i'll go to Budapest or Bucharest if there is something I really want to see.

Yeah, but the guy won't get paid this miserable wage you are talking about, so what I said was not a joke, but a fact. Consider - for example - the price of a 20-cigarettes pack, it's about 3 euro here, but about 5 in the Western countries. For us, it's huge, but isn't it cheaper for a Westerner?
