Biografie Helloween

Helloween este o trupa de power/speed metal ce a luat nastere la inceputul anilo 80, fiind compusa din componenti Iron Fist si Powerfool. Formatia este recunoscuta drept inventatorii stilului power metal.

Initial, trupa era formata din Kai Hansen (voce/chitara), Michael Weikath (chitara), Markus Grosskopf (bass) si Ingo Schwichtenberg (tobe). In 1984 trupa a semnat cu Noise Records, unde a inregistrat 2 piese pentru o compilatie intitulata Death Metal. Primul EP, Helloween, a fost lansat in 1995. In acelasi an, a aparut albumul Walls of Jericho, ce a reprezentat un succes enorm. A urmat un turneu, dupa care Kai a decis sa renunte la postul de vocal.

Michael Kiske a devenit noua voce a trupei. A urmat Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1, lansat in 1987. In acel moment, Hellloween a devenit una din cele mai faimoase trupe din Europa. Ulterior, trupa a lansat si Keeper of the Seven Keys Part II. Imediat dupa turneul Keeper 2, Kay Hansen a parasit trupa. La scurt timp, acesta a fost inlocuit de Roland Grapow. In 1989 a fost lansat albumul Live In The Uk, ce contine material inregistrat in turneul din 1988.

Dupa mai multe conflicte in interiorul trupei, a fost lansat un nou album, intitulat Pink Bubbles Go Ape (1991). Materialul a reprezentat un esec, atat comercial cat si critic. Urmasul acestuia s-a numit Chameleon (1993). In timpul turneului de promovare, tobarul Ingo Schwitchenberg a renuntat la trupa, din cauza unor probleme personale. In 1995, Ingo s-a sinucis. In memoria sa, trupa a lansat in 1996, albumul The Time Of The Oath.

In 1998, a aparut pe piata Better Than Raw, unul din cele mai bune materiale semnate Helloween. A urmat The Dark Ride, un disc ceva mai experimental. Imediat dupa turneu, Roland Grapow si Uli Kush au parasit trupa. Inlocuitorii acestora au fost Sascha Gerstner (ex- Freedom Call, Nemond) si Mark Cross (Metallium, Kingdom Come). Cu acesta componenta, Helloween au lansat in 2003, Rabbit Don't Come Easy.

2005 a reprezentat o noua schimbare de componenta, Dani Leoble (Rawhead Rexx) ocupand postul de tobar. In 2005, Helloween au lansat Keeper of the Seven Keys- The Legacy. La sfarsitul lui 2006, a aparut DVD-ul Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy World Tour 2005/2006. DVD-ul contine cateva concerte din Bulgaria, Tokyo si Sao Paolo, precum si cateva interviuri.

Alaturi de formatia Gamma Ray, Helloween pornesc in turneul 'Hellish Rock', la sfarsitul anului 2007 si inceputul anului 2008, turneu ce include Europa, Asia, America de Sud si cateva concerte in SUA.

La sfarsitul anului 2009, formatia isi lanseaza cel un nou album, cu ocazia aniversarii a 25 de ani de existenta. Albumul reprezinta o compilatie cu 10 dintre cele mai bune piese semnate Helloween.
