Interviu Metalhead Meeting 2016: Fear of Domination

Infiintata in anul 2016, Fear of Domination se poate mandri cu patru albume full-lenght cu ajutorul carora isi exprima prorpiul stil pe care l-au numit Shock-Industrial Metal. Ultimul album al trupei, 'Atlas', a fost lansat pe data de 6 Mai via Inverse Records. In asteptarea concertului pe care trupa il va sustine in cadrul festivalului Metalhead Meeting 2016, membrii formatiei s-au conformat chestionarului nostru blitzkrig. Iata ce a iesit:
Metalhead: What kind of energy you expect from the Romanian public?
Everything! We always rise up on the stage pumped and ready to explode so we wish wholeheartedly that the audience will also bring their full energy and pump us into a total frenzy onstage!
Metalhead: How would you describe your sound to metalheads who never heard your band before?
FoD has evolved from being a heavy riff-based industrial metal towards more modern metal by adding more melodic elements to the mix both vocally and instrumentally. However the industrial roots are still strong and riffs have gone more and more hard-hitting with time. The latest musical incarnation Atlas is a combination of heavy deathmetallish guitar riffs, screaming keyboard leads, pumping machines, both growl and clean vocals and all-in-all total metal massiveness with large soundscapes. Reference bands that we have been compared to are Rammstein, In Flames and Pain, for example.
Metalhead: What are you preparing for your show at Metalhead Meeting (new songs, anything special related to your performance)?
We will bring you “the best of” -set of our new songs and also some well-live-tested hits… basically a total load of headbanging mashed into 30 minutes!
Metalhead: What are the main elements that inspire your music?
Pure joy of creating new music is obviously the biggest kick that we can get! Thematically the big sources of inspiration are movies, video games and of course life in general. Sometimes there’s also stories or themes that we might come up and become into a song. In the end inspiration just is out there and also inside everybody and sometimes it just kicks you in the head and new music happens.
Metalhead: What do you think is your biggest achievement as a band?
Every step forward is an achievement. The biggest ones are probably getting outside Finland to do gigs and also playing some of the biggest stages in Finland. Obviously making a full album is always huge achievement for a band and we have already 4 of those, which we are very proud of.
Metalhead: Can you name 5 awesome bands that Metalhead readers should know about?
First of all couple of our brothers in this war of metal: Another industrial-type of a metal band called Black Light Discipline and hard-hitting samurai-metal-band called Whispered. Some really cool bands from other countries that we like to listen are the masters of soundscapes Tool and the virtuoso-prog-gods Dream Theater. Last but not least a band that has been playing so so so many times on our backstage, Gogol Bordello.
Metalhead: Thank you for answering, any message you want to send to metal fans who will come to see you at MHM?
We will have 30 minutes together and we hope that those minutes will be enough to kick every little piece of energy out of us and make each and everyone of YOU headbang like you’ve never done before! Let’s make this a festival worth remembering!
