Joey Tempest a declarat despre planurile trupei: "We Have Some Really Great Songs Cooking' For Next (album)".
In timpul unei aparitii in episodul de ieri din „Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk” de la SiriusXM, solistul EUROPE Joey Tempest a vorbit despre noul single al trupei, „Hold Your Head Up”, lansat recent: "We went into the studio about a few months ago and recorded one new song," a spus acesta. "And over the pandemic, there was some extra time. I managed to get some really good ideas down and everybody loved this idea. So we hooked up with GHOST producer Klas Ahlund. And we managed to record this in between shows, and it turned out really, really good. And, yeah, it's just come out and it feels kind of fresh. We like to stay fresh and try to be innovative and have fun with it." a continuat artistul.
Intrebat daca el si colegii sai de trupa din EUROPE planuiesc sa faca un album complet si daca „Hold Your Head Up” a fost menit in primul rand ca o modalitate de a testa un nou producator, Joey a spus: "We wanted to check out Klas, obviously. Whether we're gonna work with him or not, we're discussing, but yes, we are throwing ideas around. We have some great ideas and yes, we will make a new album. But this was something we wanted to have out now, because we have a documentary coming out as well [chronicling our entire history] from [the early days in] the suburbs of Stockholm out to the world. We found some old VHS tapes from — I think some of it's from San Francisco as well when we recorded 'The Final Countdown', in the studio with [producer] Kevin [Elson], and the hotel rooms in Japan, when we were very young and backstage from '83, '84. And we managed to put this documentary together with — people from GHOST are in it, Benny Andersson from ABBA's in it, talking, and we're just honored that people wanted to take part in this documentary. It's coming out beginning of next year, so we wanted this song to be part of that documentary. That was also part of the plan. And this 40th-anniversary tour we're doing. We were lucky getting this song together because it seems like it has some legs, so we're happy… But we do have some really great songs cooking. Obviously, 'Hold Your Head Up' will be on there as well. So, yeah, we're right now in the middle of touring. And then beginning of next year, we'll be in the studio again and doing some new ones."
EUROPE a cantat live „Hold Your Head Up” pentru prima data sambata trecuta (30 septembrie) la Salle Metropole din Lausanne, Elvetia. Piesa, care este descrisa de trupa drept „a punchy uptempo rocker with reminiscent elements of early EUROPE”, a fost inregistrata in august la Studiourile Atlantis din Stockholm cu Ahlund si a fost mixata de Stefan Glaumann (RAMMSTEIN, DEF LEPPARD), care a mixat si albumul „Secret Society” al trupei. Melodia, care a fost disponibila din 29 septembrie pe toate platformele digitale de renume, inclusiv Spotify, Apple, iTunes, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, Pandora si YouTube Music, va servi ca un precursor al celui de-al doisprezecelea album de studio al formatiei care va fi inregistrat in 2024 si lansat la sfarsitul lui 2024 sau inceputul lui 2025.
Videoclipul „Hold Your Head Up” ofera o privire asupra noului documentar pe care trupa a fost ocupata sa-l filmeze cu producatorul/regizorul Craig Hooper (DEEP PURPLE, SAXON) pentru Coolhead Productions, intitulat simplu „Europe - The Movie”. Filmul va spune povestea trupei, de la formare pana in prezent, povestind despre ascensiunea lor spre succes la mijlocul anilor 1980, prin vremuri grele si dureri de inima, pana la revenirea in mileniu si succesele actuale pe care le-a obtinut trupa. Acesta este programat pentru lansare la inceputul lui 2024.
EUROPE efectueaza in prezent un turneu „Capsula timpului”, care include 21 de concerte in Elvetia, Italia, Germania, Norvegia, Suedia, Franta, Tarile de Jos si Regatul Unit, inclusiv doua nopti la celebrul London Palladium. Aceste spectacole aniversare vor consta intr-o retrospectiva a carierei formatiei, trupa performand toate hiturile, de pe toate cele 11 albume de studio ale trupei.
Cel mai recent album al formatiei EUROPE, „Walk The Earth”, a fost lansat in octombrie 2017 prin Hell & Back Recordings (Silver Lining Music). Acesta a fost inregistrat la faimoasele studiouri Abbey Road din Londra cu producatorul castigator al premiului Grammy Dave Cobb (RIVAL SONS, Shooter Jennings, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton).
