MINISTRY anunta un nou album si lanseaza videoclipul piesei "God damn White Trash"

Ministry au anuntat de curand lansarea celui de-al 16-lea album de studio intitulat „Hopiumforthemasses”. De asemenea, trupa a lansat si videoclipul piesei „God damn White Trash” o data cu acest anunt.
Al Jourgensen si formatia pregatesc cel de-al 16-lea album al MINISTRY, „Hopiumforthemasses”, care urmeaza sa fie lansat pe 1 martie 2024 prin Nuclear Blast Records.
Astazi, trupa premiata cu multiplatina, de sase ori nominalizata la premiile Grammy, ofera prima degustare a noului material lansand oficial piesa „g*****n White Trash”, cu Pepper Keenan de la CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, o melodie care si-a facut debutul in turneul sustinut de MINISTRY la inceputul acestui an.
De-a lungul a noua piese, Jourgensen canta despre o lume nenorocita, incarcata de pandemii, conflicte socio politice, schimbari climatice, etc. Ca intotdeauna, el doar se uita in jurul sau, la ce se intampla, insa are un microfon si il foloseste in scopul de a constientiza oamenii despre lumea din jurul nostru.
"Just like you or anybody else, I'm simply a passenger in this lifetime," a declarat Jourgensen. "I'm watching social changes, political changes, and economic changes, and I comment on them because I do have a First Amendment right. A lot of people say artists and athletes should shut up and play ball. No, I'm on this trip too. If I see something, I say something. That reflects on where each album goes. Instead of staying sedentary and singing about broken relationships, inner turmoil, or whatever is hurting this week, I comment on what's going on from the perspective of a fellow passenger."
Impreuna cu ceilalti membri ai trupei MINISTRY - John Bechdel (clape), Monte Pittman si Cesar Soto (chitara), Roy Mayorga (tobe) si Paul D'Amour (bass) - „Hopiumforthemasses” are, de asemenea, o multime de invitati speciali, inclusiv Eugene Hutz de la GOGOL BORDELLO, Jello Biafra de la LARD si Keenan.

„Hopiumforthemasses” va fi disponibil in trei variante de vinil, CD-uri dar si pe platforme digitale/streaming. Variantele de vinil includ: verde cu stropi galbeni (in magazinele de specialitate de pretutindeni); albastru cu stropi roz (exclusiv prin Nuclear Blast); rosu cu stropi alb (exclusiv la locatii, in timpul turneelor/concertelor).
In iunie, Jourgensen a declarat pentru Yahoo! Lyndsey Parker de la Entertainment ca a fost aproape de a pune punct calatoriei formatiei MINISTRYdupa peste 40 de ani de la nasterea trupei in orasul sau natal, Chicago.
"My career is winding down with MINISTRY," a spus Jourgensen. "I'm gonna stop MINISTRY in an album or two. I have to. I have other things I wanna do."
Acesta a adaugat: "My public and my band are all in agreement that we are being shackled by… We are taking our genre to the farthest limits it can go, and we're happy with that. And we'll stop when it's time instead of keep going and trying to just recreate the same stuff. We keep trying to push further. So, I figure there's only maybe one more MINISTRY album to go. Maybe two, but probably one."
Jourgensen a incheiat: "I have other things to do. I have projects that I'm working on with various people. I have film scores. And MINISTRY, now we're being held to the standard of this new MINISTRY of, okay, either push further or do the most popular stuff over and over and over and over, which we have with 'Psalm 69' or something like that. I'm tired of that. We're all tired of that. Well, we are. The fans aren't. So I think this next year or two is gonna be really transformative in the sense that I'm wrapping a bow on my entire career and saying, 'Drop mic. Thank you. Thank you for buying our t-shirts… Good night. And now I hope you follow me on my next journey."
Nu este pentru prima data cand artistul declara ca un anumit album este ultimul album al formatiei, astfel ca ne putem astepta si la alte piese noi marca Ministry pe viitor.
