The Colony la Metalhead Meeting - interviu blitz

Continuam astazi cu un nou interviu cu cei de la The Colony, care au mai urcat pe scena Metalhead Meeting acum 2 ani.

1.Hello and thank you for taking a little time to answer a few questions for our readers. Is this the first time you come to Romania?

Hello Metalhead, Meeting Happy to give you the time always a pleasure. This is not our first time in Romania. We played Metalhead Meeting 2 years ago and we also played the Rock n Iasi festival last year. Both shows were great, and the people of Romania are the best.

2.What kind of energy do you expect from the Romanian public?

We are hoping for lots of energy from the people of Romania. We will give the energy right back to them and make this show one of the best. We know the People can bring it and have a lot of fun.

3. How would you describe your music to somebody who has never heard your band before?

Best way to describe our music is heavy riffs, catchy choruses and great melodies with some awesome head banging jump off the ground moments.

4. What is your favourite song to perform live?

My favourite song personally (Riki, Drummer) would have to be ‘To Die Anodyne’ from our latest record. Its heavy its catchy and it has everything you need.

5. What are the main elements that inspire your work?

The main element I would say is getting to play for the fans. We love writing and playing music but there is that feeling that can’t be described when playing in front of the fans and everyone is having the time of their lives.

6. What do you think is your biggest achievement as a band and what was the biggest problem that you had to overcome as a band?

Our biggest achievement to date I would say is playing such a huge venue for Metal Head Meeting not once but twice which is awesome. Is the biggest venue and crowd we have played for and we don’t take these things for granted?

I think the biggest one was when we got stranded in Serbia as our van broke down. We were on our way to the airport home after a 2-week tour. It took so long to get to the airport we missed our flight and had to get new ones. But I don’t think I could’ve coped if it wasn’t for the guys in the band all keeping each other positive and motivated to get through it.

7. How do you feel about the internet in the music business and how important are live concerts for a band nowadays?

I believe the internet is great for some things in the music business. Marketing, releasing videos, keeping the fans up to date on what we get up to, new releases send tour dates. But personally, I think people should still buy CDs for the music. Live concerts are still one of the most important things for bands even with the internet. The experience you get and the feeling for bands and fans when you play a live concert will never be matched by watching it on the internet.

8. Share with us your top five underrated bands that people should start listening right now.

That’s a good question. The 5 bands people should be listening to are our good friends in Godstone. Just came off a tour with those guys great bunch of dudes their EP ‘Monument of One’ is killer.

The Raven Age is another band we have supported and are a great band their new single ‘surrogate’ is awesome.

I just heard Bury Tomorrow’s new single ‘Black Flame’ it’s incredible.

We also must give our boys in Bleed from Within a mention their new album ‘Era’ is outstanding and they are Scottish also ha-ha.

The last band I would say are our good friends in Darkness Divine another great Scottish band. We have a show with these guys on the 1st of July in Glasgow it’s going to be insane. They are about to release a new EP on the 29th of June very excited to hear it.

9. What are you preparing for your show at Metalhead Meeting Festival (new songs, anything special related to your performance)?

We are preparing a high energy show with lots of crowd interaction. We want to leave a lasting impression on the crowd and get some new fans. You may be lucky enough to hear a new song, but we will just have to wait and see ha-ha.

10. Thank you for answering, is there any message you want to send those who will come to see you perform at METALHEAD Meeting Festival?

Get ready for an energetic show with lots of head banging, singing. As always if you guys want to come and hang out with us and grab a beer don’t be a stranger come and say hi always a pleasure talking and meeting everyone.
