dragonfly in the pouring rain
cast a shadow on halcyon days
chasing rainbows running the storm
unaware that your wings
would be torn
sometimes I think Im going nowhere at all
stuck in the shelter with my back to the wall
then I remember how it
felt to come down
so Im taking my time and Im not going out
until its safe to fly
I would be waiting til the summer
sky
but Im standing by
until Im cleared to go
I wont be shaken by the undertow
Im under your wing this time
and I know
theres a storm outside
so Ill stay til I know its safe
safe to fly
aeronaut in a heavy cloud
staying up with the radio
down
chasing rainbows youd rather forget
unaware of the trouble ahead
sometimes I think Im learning nothing at all
once
Ive recovered I just stumble and fall
til Ive discovered what the journeys about
Im preparing for flight, and Ill weather it
out
until its safe to fly
